      at the Holiday Inn NW Plaza / Arboretum.

    "School Health Roundup" was held in El Paso, Texas at the
      Hilton El Paso Airport.

    "Shining Stars of Health" was held in Dallas, Texas at the Radisson Hotel & Suites.

  • January 22-23, TASBHC's eighth annual conference
    "Helping One Child At A Time" was held back-to-back with the
      Texas School Health Association conference in Austin, Texas
      at the Hilton Austin North.

2003
  • October:  TASBHC 8th Conference date was changed to combine with Texas School Health Association (TSHA), January 2004
    in Austin, Texas.

 

2002
  • September 27-28, TASBHC had its seventh annual conference "Shaping The Future of School-Based Health."   It was held at the Hilton North in Austin, Texas.

              - Dr. Edward Sanchez, Texas Commissioner of
                Health, delivered the key-note address

              - Organizational strategic plans were presented to
                membership

 

2001
  • October 19-20, "Catching The Wave of School-Based Health"
    was the sixth annual TASBHC conference and was held at
    the San Luis Resort in Galveston, Texas.

 

2000
  • October 26-28, TASBHC held its fifth annual conference
    "Projects That Work" at South Padre Island, Texas.

 

1999
  • July 15-16, the fourth annual TASBHC conference
    "Tomorrow-Yesterday-Today...Working with Texas Children"
    was held at the Sheraton Hotel in Austin, Texas.

 

1998
  • June, the third annual TASBHC conference was held in
    Austin at the Texas Department of Health.

 

1997
  • June 19-20, the second annual TASBHC conference
    "Healthy Children, Healthy Futures" was held in Austin at
    the Texas Department of Health.

 

1996
  • In June, the first state meeting was convened in Austin, Texas,
    and delegates established the Texas Association of School-Based Health Centers (TASBHC).

 

1995
  • In June, fourteen Texas delegates to the first National Assembly of School-Based Health Care met together in Washington, D.C. and agreed to become a state affiliate of the national organization.

  • From August, 1995 through May, 1996, representatives from Texas school-based health centers met monthly and developed organizational plans for the Texas Association of School-Based
    Health Centers.

 

1993
  • The Texas Department of Health (TDH) established the
    School-Based Clinics Division and provided competitive grant
    startup funding for school-based health clinics in Texas.

 

1991
  • National health reform initiatives provided the impetus for local communities to expand school-based health services.

 

1969
  • Three Texas school districts joined with the University of Texas
    Health Science Centers and established the first school-based
    health clinics in the United States.
